Being involved with the Manu Network (Air New Zealand’s Māori and Pasifika Community) has been a great opportunity for me to understand culture’s place in the corporate environment, and identify values important to me such as Mahi Ngātahi and Kaitiakitanga and apply it to the work I do.
This internship has been a fantastic opportunity for me to explore which profession I would like to pursue. It has also allowed me to understand how I can use my culture to add value to the work I do. Without the support from TupuToa, I never would have imagined that the corporate world would be so inviting of allowing me to bring my full self to work.
