I am Tongan, and have ancestral links to Fiji and Samoa. Some avenues utilised to embrace my Tongan culture: being myself, performing to the best of my ability, being confident, respectful and humble, work hard and raise cultural awareness through the use of the Tongan language or references to the Pacific/Tonga in conversations/discussions.
This internship has provided industry knowledge and valuable experiences of the corporate sector. ACC provided a supportive environment, and I learnt success requires self belief and hard work. It was new for me to have regular constructive feedback, and I learnt about new communication styles and working styles.
